"As a foreigner, I wasn’t as enculturate as local Singaporeans about Singapore culture, as well as Singapore’s societal problems. I’m very glad that I have taken this module, because it was an eye opening experience for me to get insights on governmental public policies, income disparity and lives of people in Singapore."

"The path is ultimately hopeful, but the path to finding hope is heartbreaking. As we work with our participants towards uncovering underlying social issues, this project was an eye-opening experience for me as I learned about their daily struggle to live and everyday grit and grayness hidden from broader view. Despite their situation, some of them continue to appreciate, love, and fight for life, which have been very inspiring to me. From the head, heart and hands, I hope that our small efforts have contributed to effecting positive change in their lives."

I love to observe things and people around my surroundings, sometimes you may just come across something interesting at that particular moment.
"I have had past volunteering experiences interacting with beneficiaries similar to the profile of our participants, but I still find myself learning something different from each and every participant. Every single person has his or her own story and it is through their experiences that we learn."

I like to travel around the world, observe what people do and at times stare into blank space especially on public transport.
"Everyone has their own difficulties. It surprise me to see that there are various kind of situations faced by others and yet they were able to set their mind on living a simple life and be satisfied with simple things. This project allowed me to step out of my comfort zone to interact with the participants over the weeks, creating though short but fulfilling memories with them along the way, and learning from their valuable experiences."
